Locally sourced
This case study delves into my journey as a Creative Director, marked by a profound collaboration with a local event space and their in-house event coordinator. Together, we had in the past orchestrated ten highly successful fashion shows that celebrated local boutiques and brands, with a focus on fostering community and creative cohesion. This particular event was the climax of our partnership producing events of this model and magnitude. In this case study, we explore the evolution of our partnership, with a particular emphasis on the most recent event, "Locally Sourced."
A Flourishing Partnership: At the outset of my creative direction endeavors, I forged a pivotal partnership with a local event space, leveraging the expertise of their in-house event coordinator. Together, we embarked on a journey that yielded a string of triumphant fashion shows, all hosted at their renowned venue and promoted by myself as well as various involved artists and models. These events were characterized by collaborations with local boutiques and brands hailing from neighboring regions, often featuring up to ten distinct brands in a single show. Within this dynamic context, my role consistently encompassed the orchestration of the overall creative vision and the meticulous styling of each ensemble, ensuring a seamless and coherent brand identity across every event.
The Theme: In a testament to the evolving nature of our partnership, the most recent event introduced the captivating theme, "Locally Sourced." This concept served as a compelling springboard to spotlight brands from South Dakota, North Dakota, and Colorado, emphasizing the significance of supporting local talent and expanding on our goal of curating a more impactful midwest fashion scene. The essence of "Locally Sourced" was ingeniously inspired by the idea of a psychedelic farmers market, fostering a vibrant and imaginative atmosphere.
The Creative Unveiling: To materialize the "Locally Sourced" concept, we embarked on an exhilarating journey that began with an imaginative photo shoot set within our local co-op. This photoshoot served as the cornerstone of our multifaceted marketing campaign, authentically reflecting the spirit of our theme. From there, our vision expanded, and we engaged local installation artists to bring our ideas to life. Together, we constructed a mesmerizing, mind-bending supermarket that promised an immersive experience for our event attendees. This kaleidoscopic marketplace was designed to transcend the ordinary, transporting guests into a world where fashion, art, and community converged.
Outcome and Impact: The "Locally Sourced" event achieved remarkable success on several fronts:
Community Engagement: By championing local brands and artists, we fostered a sense of community pride and collaboration that transcended the boundaries of fashion.
Creative Synergy: Our partnership thrived, with each event serving as a testament to the power of collaboration and shared creative vision.
Audience Immersion: The psychedelic farmers market set design and installations left an indelible impression on our attendees, turning the event into a memorable, immersive experience.
Conclusion: "Locally Sourced" stands as a prime example of the transformative power of community-driven creativity. It exemplifies how a shared vision, innovative marketing campaigns, and collaborative spirit can elevate fashion events beyond mere showcases, turning them into immersive experiences that resonate deeply with both the fashion industry and the local community. Having encapsulated the essence of our previous events, and all we hope to achieve going forward, Locally Sourced will stand as the theme for our annual event going forward.
